The action took place on the Tarhovka beach in the Kurortny district of the city on the northern shore of the Gulf of Finland. It was devoted to improving the ecological state of the coast of the Gulf of Finland, the formation of ecological awareness of the younger generation and the active population of the city, as well as the development of environmental volunteer movement in the field of environmental protection.
On November 28, Friends of the Baltic experts, Profine RUS (JSC) and a school ecoadviser conducted a thermal imaging observation at a public school. In 2010-2012, an energy audit was performed (or should have been performed) in all Russian schools by service companies, but often the results were not explained to the school administration, neither were they delivered to the technical staff and the overall school community, and thus failed to create the basis for the improvement of energy efficiency of the school building.
On November 24, Friends of the Baltic organized and conducted an open Energy Saving Day for students of building and construction related courses of the College of Tourism and Hotel service. Future builders and buildings managers at tourist destinations took part in two sections: Climate and Energy, and Energy Efficiency.
