On December 16, 2021 in St. Petersburg was held a round table "Assessment and reduction of nutrient pollution on the rivers of the Gulf of Finland basin — intersectoral and transboundary cooperation". The event was conducted within the transboundary Russian-Finnish project "Water meets people: learn, act and influence" (SEVIRA), dedicated to the quality of water in three rivers: Sestra, Virojoki, Seleznyovka (Rakkolanjoki, Fin.).
On October 8, a cross-border Russian-Finnish youth seminar on the exchange of experience in river ecosystem research was held. The event was held online in Russian and Finnish with simultaneous translation. The seminar was opened by Lyudmila Vesikko, coordinator of the project "Water Meets People - Learn, Act and Influence" (SEVIRA) from the Finnish Institute of the Environment (SYKE).
On September 23 in St. Petersburg's "Friends of the Baltic" and "Ecocentrum" hosted a round table on cooperation between educational, scientific and public organizations for the protection of nature. Participants find out about the past year results of the Friends of the Baltic programs and the programs of the new 2019-2020 academic year for everyone to participate.
